How to add path to the %PATH% environment variable in Windows

1. Type Win+R, followed by sysdm.cpl as shown below:



2. You will see the following System Properties:



3. Click the Advanced tab:



4. Then click the Environment Variables button
.



5. You should now see the following screen:



6. Under System Variables, find and select the Path variable.

Note: There's also a Path under User variables on top. Please don't select that one. Select the System variables below.



7. Make sure that the Path is selected, then click the Edit button.

Note: Click the Edit button, NOT the New button.



8. Click the New button. You will see a new entry inserted at the last row:



9. Enter the path you want to add to the PATH environment variable.



10. Then click the OK button.
