How to setup MemoAI on Windows

Download and Install

1. Go to: https://memo.ac/
2. Click "Try for free (Windows/macOS)" and download the installer.

   

3. Open and run the downloaded installer file.
4. When the installation completes, run the newly install app "Memo"

Running Memo AI

1. Run the newly install app "Memo"
2. Select your language and click "Quickly obtain a MemoAI invitation code".

   

3. Enter your email and click "Continue".



4. Check your email. You will receive am activation code from Memo AI. Copy and paste the code, then click "Activate"



5. You should now see the following Memo AI Home page.

Generate Transcript for YouTube videos

First of all, make sure you have Ollama installed. If not, please refer to the article: How to setup Ollama on Windows

1. Enter the URL of the YouTube video:and click the "Transcribe" button.



2. Select "GPU" and click the "Transcribe" button.



3. Please be patient. The transcription may take quite a while depending on the length of your videos. When it completes, you will see the subtitles appear on the right of the video.

   

Translate Subtitles

1. To translate the subtitles, click the "Translate" button. For Services, choose "Ollama". Then select the desired language and click the "Translate" button.



2. Please be patient. Most laptops do not have a proper graphics card. So if you are running ollama on your laptop, the translation might take some time. Go grab a cup of coffee. When completed, you will see the translated subtitles below the original one.



3. To export the subtitles to the standard SRT file, click the "Export" button and select "SRT".



4. To export the original subtitles, in this case English, select "Original" then click the Export button.



5. To export the translated subtitles, select "Translated" then click the Export button.
